Why Not?

George Bernard Shaw once said: “You see things and say, ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were and say, ‘Why not?’”

Thanks Georgy, it's a good one. To be clear if you're here reading this you're probably the "Why Not?" part of the quote.  You're interested in living life in an unabashed, non conventional way, wild and free... but enough about you... for now;)
Truth is I love the quote. I'd like to think I live by the quote but sometimes I do get stuck up in that strange and difficult crevice in my brain called "Looking Good."  You know, that very ridonculous and very human attribute that quite frankly can suck the life out of all adventure.

ADVENTURE! Yes! the thing that this whole dealio is about.  "But, but what if?"  Look, the bottom line is for me and for you (okay it's still about you) that out of all the possible outcomes - mediocrity, worldwide success, straight up failure, looking like an idiot - nothing creates more sadness than doing nothing- regardless of the reason.  So share what you're wanting, what you're stuck on, get feedback, Make unapologetic requests (unless that includes a ride to the airport) and just shake your bootie!  And while we're on the dance floor, you should know I've been dreaming things, and scheming things in the spinning disco ball that is my mind and hoping my current playlist keeps the energy moving - cause for me it's all about keeping the energy moving.

Among other things I'm getting ready to launch a new book of monologues, looking for locations for a short film I can't get out of my mind, working on a sitcom spec script and developing some new story ideas.  Like Mr. Shaw said, " Why not?" Because I got mad skills?  Because I like to torture myself?  Maybe, maybe not but for sure because at the end of the day I want toI get to and I can.  Repeat.  Yes, at each step of the process I'm dealing with tons of questions, new decisions to make, new possibilities and new challenges but if I (we) just remember the adventure part, remember that the option of living a life like a cut out piece of cardboard and not liking that option so much isn't an option and finally if we always remember that living with creative impulses is a gift and gifts are for giving... not keeping in strange and difficult crevices... then maybe we can be more of who we came here to be.

Fellow Mavericks/Misfits
I'd like to give a shout out to my long time friend Kyle Turk who has completed his first novel.  Talk about an adventure...
Love the title and one look at the cover and I just want to make some home made moon shine pull up a bear rug and give it a read cause my friend Kyle's always had the goods.

I love it Monique. It's like all the thoughts I've had but not admitted to - right out there in the open. Thanks for the inspiration!
